ACC Liverpool, one of Europe’s newest, greenest and most technologically advanced conference and exhibition venues has joined forces with UK tourism body Meet England to target the US market for international conventions at major MICE exhibition this month, IMEX America 2011.
One of the UK’s most iconic cities, Liverpool, will have a presence in the USA next month when Kerrin MacPhie, Director of Sales for ACC Liverpool, promotes the venue and city as a conference destination to American conference and meeting buyers, agents and PCOs.
ACC Liverpool will showcase the flexible facilities of BT Convention Centre and inter-connected Echo Arena as well as the development plans for the adjoining 8,100m2 Exhibition Centre, due to open in 2014.
ACC Liverpool will present the venue as a world-class business tourism destination to over 2,000 attendees including a group of hosted buyers arranged by Visit Britain. As a member of ICCA, MacPhie will take the opportunity to attend the IMEX America Association Evening Networking event to further strengthen the venue’s relationships in the continent.
Known for its music heritage and greatest export, The Beatles, Liverpool has undergone a dramatic transformation in recent years to become a leading city for culture and tourism. Situated at the heart of the UK, Liverpool affords easy access for national and international delegates, with 2 major airports within a 45 minute drive and train links providing accessible routes into the city including a 2 hour service from London via Virgin Trains.
ACC Liverpool’s attendance at the exhibition follows in the footsteps of Liverpool’s presence at ASAE 2010 which marked the start of the city’s first ever concerted attempt to focus itself as a business tourism destination to the American market.
MacPhie said, “This is a fantastic opportunity to exhibit at the launch of IMEX America to show buyers how adaptable and cultural the city of Liverpool and ACC Liverpool are. Our award winning facilities and status as one of the top UK tourism destination make Liverpool attractive to the US market. Following ASAE we have seen a significant increase in enquiries from this region and we are keen to continue reinforcing our stance to the American market. I am very excited about meeting with more potential buyers who I know will be tempted into visiting and seeing what Liverpool has to offer.”
ACC Liverpool will be exhibiting on the Visit England booth 809, at IMEX America which takes place from October 11-13. IMEX America is a worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events, taking place in Las Vegas and will include over 1800 exhibitions from across the world.
