During the 2012 Games, media from across the UK are being invited to register at the London Media Centre (LMC) – a working media centre for all national and international press who are not accredited at the official LOCOG press centre.

Based in central London, the LMC will be open to all press (both print and broadcast) interested in reporting the wider story taking place across London and the UK during the period of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

By registering, media will get access to a working press room, edit facilities, outside broadcast positions and content programmes both in London and around the UK. The content will include everything from accessing celebrities and spokespeople, attractions, guided tours, hospitality and much more.

Once registered, the LMC pass will act as a discount card and filming permit for designated areas outlined in the broadcast guide and will be active between 1st July 2012 and 10th September 2012.

A guide for broadcasters
This guide provides information for broadcasters wanting to film news and feature packages for their pre and games time programmes. The guide includes a list of boroughs and attractions working with the LMC to provide filming positions and permits. The guide can be downloaded for free here.

Original broadcast content
In order to share news stories, the London Media Centre is creating original editorial content every month for broadcasters and news agencies to use in the context of their Games programmes and features either online or for broadcast use.

Each monthly package will be themed and so far; A City Prepares, Accessibility and Sustainable London packages are available to download. The next packages produced will be Food and Drink and A Look at the Year Ahead.
