The new congress season gets off to a brisk start at the Valencia Conference Centre this autumn with over 3,000 people from all over the world set to visit the venue at the 42nd
National Podiatry Congress, the Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference, and the Spanish Laboratory Animal Science Society Congress. These events have a significant economic impact on the city and enhance Valencia’s image across the globe.
The excellent management of the venue has brought a large number of national and international congresses with a marked medical and scientific bias to the Centre in 2011.
This year, the Valencia Conference Centre has played host to a total of 19 national and international congresses which have been attended by over 17,000 visitors from across the
globe.
The presence of so many international delegates at the Valencia Conference Centre is the result of a constant flow of major events being held at the venue. These include the 17th
Annual International Congress of the International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS), the European Congress on Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis
(ECCEO), the 4th IVI Congress and the 5th Trends in Medical Mycology.
In addition, two major national congresses are also scheduled for the last quarter of the year.
The 42nd National Podiatry Congress, the industry’s most important event with over 1,000 participants, will be held from 13th – 15th October. On this occasion, a varied,
multidisciplinary scientific programme has been scheduled which is set to provide an in-depth insight into the latest advances and know-how in clinical and sports podiatry, podiatric
surgery, biomechanics and orthopodiatry, among others. Speakers at the event include prestigious international names such as Dr. Simon Spooner, a specialist in sports medicine
who has worked as a podiatrist at the London Marathon.
The schedule of the Spanish Laboratory Animal Science Society Congress, which will be held at the Centre from 22nd – 25th November, features the prestigious scientist Pedro
Cavadas who is famous across the world for his successful limb transplants. In 2009, Cavadas carried out the first face transplant in Spain (the 8th in the world).
On the international front, the Valencian venue is set to play host to the Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference from 22nd – 29th October. This event, which will shortly be celebrating its 60th anniversary, will be visited on this occasion by over 40 leading international firms in the field of radiological technology. One of the award-winning speakers set to take part in the event is Michael Kroning, an expert in nuclear engineering at the Tomsk Open Laboratory of Material Inspection (TOLMI) in Russia, who will be giving a master class on the effects and responsibilities of the Fukushima nuclear accident.
On 7th and 8th November, the Centre is set to welcome the Global China Business Meeting, an entrepreneurial gathering which will be attended by leaders from over 400 multinationals under the slogan “Globalizing Chinese Firms”. The meeting will feature the presence of directors and managers from some of the major investors from the country which has become the world’s second largest economy. This event is the perfect springboard for encouraging investment in Europe and boosting relations between the two markets.
Numerous national and international organisations continue to choose the Valencia Conference Centre for its flexibility and organisational experience, as well as its avant-garde
technology and the versatility of its facilities. This brand image has made the Centre a benchmark venue for a wide variety of events, such as the concerts by Michael Nyman and
Raphael, and the now habitual fixtures of “Swan Lake” and the “New Year Concert” which round off our schedule for the last quarter of the year.
