A busy year for exhibitions

2012 sees more events than ever at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre. Overall the number of events is up 50 per cent on this year. “We’ve really had to work hard to find room for all the events, but that’s exactly what we want,” says Johan Lind, Business Manager at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre.

The year kicks off in January with the shows MyDOG from 5–8 January and On Two Wheels from 26–29 January. The month also sees an external conference, Gothia Forum’s Third Clinical Research Conference, and ICT Expo Göteborg 2012 organised by easyFairs. After a hectic January, the year is set to continue in the same spirit.

“It’s partly a result of trade show cycles and the better economic climate. But it’s largely that we’re now reaping the benefit of many years of deliberate efforts guided by the motto ‘World-class hosting’. These value words imbue our whole organisation in a clear and direct way,” says Johan Lind.
“Another explanation for the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre’s upswing and popularity is the phenomenon of growth,” he says.
“Over the years we’ve developed various trade shows into strong brands, such as TUR, the Gothenburg Boat Show, Scanpack, Maintenance and Scanautomatic. Exhibitors and visitors notice that the events produce effective results on both the meetings and the business front, leading to new enquiries about trade shows.”
