The 2012 EFAPCO Congress will take another leap forward in its campaign for greater recognition for PCOs along the corridors of European power.

“We have just made another exciting step towards development of our pan-European voice with the recruitment of the Czech Republic into EFAPCO membership,” said Federation President, Nicolas Le Brun.

“Every EU member state that joins us strengthens our voice at pan-European levels and enhances our quest for positive recognition and support.

“Now that strengthening of ties has been enhanced by the acceptance of Jose Bastos, Head of Unit Conference Organisation at the European Commission (DG SCIC) to be one of the keynote speakers at our Congress at Estoril Congress Center on January 12 to 14,” Le Brun added.

“He will be speaking about “Conference organisation as a key communication tool in the European Commission”. And he is also keen to encourage the involvement of some other DGs.”

The congress, themed: “The World has changed. Start Acting”, is taking place in the same “green” venue as a heavily supported seminar and workshop on Sustainable Events, which took place in September.

“The ECC is a world leader among environmentally-friendly venues, and echoes the progress made at EFAPCO’s last Congress held in Brussels, which focused sharply on “sustainable events”, he added.

“We will be exhibiting at EIBTM (Stand L220) and look forward to meeting participants interested in becoming part of the EFAPCO network, or joining us in Estoril in January.
