ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, will promote destination Liverpool under the ‘It’s Liverpool’ brand to over 3000 European global meetings and events buyers next week at industry event, EIBTM.  The team will introduce a host of new sales and marketing initiatives along with a development update on the venue’s expansion plans.

The team will announce plans for its newest addition; an adjoining Exhibition Centre, which will break ground in 2013 and be due for completion in 2014. The new space will offer up to 8,100m² of additional floor space making it the only interconnected arena, convention centre and exhibition facility in the UK.

As part of ACC Liverpool’s added value offer, this week the venue launched a delegate card packed with offers and privileges for some of the city’s best hotels, restaurants, bars and attractions exclusively for ACC Liverpool delegates.  The delegate card will maximise the conference experience of business tourists during their time in Liverpool and enable them to fully embrace the cultural heritage of the North West city.

As well as adding value for delegates, ACC Liverpool has developed a CSR strategy to support clients by assisting with the impact and legacy of their events and helping clients forge relationships with third sector organisations in the city.

Under ACC Liverpool’s 5-year business plan, the venue will keep a close eye on technological trends and developments to ensure the offering is in line with, and capable of exceeding the expectations and demands of the market place.  ACC Liverpool is currently in the testing stages of a white label event app which will be offered to clients in the New Year.

The appeal of the city to business visitors is increasing as the destination’s reputation grows; Liverpool has recently been voted as the UK’s friendliest city by Condé Nast Traveller.  On the back of such accolades Liverpool is bucking the national trend with growth in tourism spend and visitors, representing Liverpool’s renowned warm welcome the city is well known for.

Kerrin MacPhie, Director of Sales, ACC Liverpool commented, “ACC Liverpool recently hosted the high profile Labour Party Conference and continues to perform on an international platform with delegates visiting the venue from every continent. We offer value and support from the outset, taking responsibility with our clients to achieve outstanding events.

“We are rounding up the year by welcoming the Beatles’ Paul McCartney for the final leg of his world tour and looking forward to welcoming Association Congress next summer and thereafter the build of the additional space in 2013.  We are eager to share these messages to more buyers at EIBTM and see new demand come forward for our spaces over the next year.”
