Singapore’s newest meeting venue is the only in Asia powered by patented and eco-friendly wireless technology
Singapore, 17 November 2011 – Delegates and organisers alike can look forward to enjoying high- speed internet wireless connectivity at the brand new meeting wing of Singapore’s largest purpose- built MICE venue come early 2012. MAX Atria @ Singapore EXPO is set to become the first and only event facility in Asia to utilise the patented high performance Arrays created by Xirrus, Inc., that will provide full Wi-Fi coverage across the wing. With this technology, business events at MAX Atria will also be more environmentally sustainable.
Enhanced connectivity, rewarding event experiences
Managed by Singex Venues Pte Ltd, MAX Atria features 32 column-free rooms on two levels with spacious foyers, a garden courtyard and rooftop space. It could host over 3,500 people at various conferences, meetings, banquets, light exhibitions, and product launches that are spread over
12,700sqm of space at the same time. Each Xirrus Array can support up to 200 concurrent users at a bandwidth of 2mbps, and the deployment is scalable as the number of events and delegates increase.
Said Mr Aloysius Arlando, Chief Executive Officer of Singex, “With business event delegates becoming increasingly connected, using multiple devices and accessing various data, video and voice applications at any given time, Wi-Fi coverage alone is not enough to ensure all these gadgets can function properly. Delegates are logged on laptops to either download seminar presentations or post videos onto online event portals. They could also be tweeting the latest happenings from the conference using their smartphones. As a venue manager, Singex is committed to delivering fuss-free event experiences and value-added services. To this end, we have partnered Xirrus to ensure greater bandwidth, and support higher user density and more diverse applications, so that all visitors can stay connected wherever they are at MAX Atria.”
Greener meetings
Certified Green Mark Platinum by Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority, the energy- and water-efficient MAX Atria is built with eco-friendly furnishing materials, so that every event’s carbon
footprint can be managed responsibly. By deploying Xirrus Arrays around MAX Atria, energy consumption will also be lower than before.
Said Mr Allan Smith, Area Vice President, Asia Pacific & Japan, of Xirrus, “Through the deployment of Xirrus Arrays across MAX Atria, less access points will have to be installed, fewer cable will need to be pulled 1. Singex can therefore save up to 2,349 kWh of power 2 on average per year. Having worked with various hotels, universities, venues, as well as organisers of events such as Cannes Film Festival and Tour de France, we are proud to assist Singex in delivering rewarding event
experiences, and also support their sustainability efforts.”
MAX Atria opens in early 2012.
