To use the new service, customers need to make a video call with Skype (login svo_checkin), say their name, passport details and flight number. After that the dispatcher will send the passenger via Skype a boarding card, which the customer should print out and have with himself or herself in the airport for all formalities before the flight. Upon arrival to the airport, the passenger only needs to register his or her luggage (if any). For convenience of passengers who have already been registered (online, Skype registration, registration kiosks in terminals), Sheremetyevo has drop-off stands intended for quick luggage registration. After that the passenger may pass customs, passport and special controls.
After Skype registration is launched, Sheremetyevo passengers may be registered for a flight from elsewhere, while the registration process taking just a few minutes is closely watched by the dispatcher. Registration may be effected in advance (registration starts as a rule 24-6 hours before the flight depending on the air carrier’s rules). Currently Skype registration is available for flights by the carriers Air Astana, Royal Air Maroc, China Eastern Airlines, Estonian Air, Hainan Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Iran Air, Jat Airways, Turkish Airlines, Transaero, Aerosvit, Ariana Afgan Airlines, Belavia, Dnepravia, Donbasaero, Nord Wind, Oren Air, Air Algerie and others.
Detailed information on the new Skype registration service is available from Sheremetyevo’s call center by telephone (495) 232-65-65 or8-800-100-65-65, and also from the On-line Registration section in the airport website (http://svo.aero/registr/).
