An online exhibitor appointment system will be launched at UITT 2012, the largest and most important travel industry event in Ukraine, which will enable visitors and exhibitors to schedule their meetings, to provide a more productive and efficient use of their time during the exhibition.
From the 28th – 30th March 2012 in Kiev, key international travel industry players will participate at UITT to promote their countries and regions, to increase the awareness of their presence in the Ukrainian market.
In 2012, the Fujairah tourism authority will exhibit for the first time, and will join exhibitors such as the Tourist Boards of Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Czech Republic, Israel, Hungary, Slovenia, Dubai, Tunisia, Egypt, Slovakia, Malaysia, Thailand, Dominican Republic, Sri Lanka and others. One of the biggest Russian Tour operators – Natalie Tours, opened their office in Kiev in 2011 and will also exhibit at UITT.
In 2011, 710 exhibitors from 55 destinations exhibited at UITT, which attracted 20,526 visitors to discover more about each country and region. Over the past 18 years, UITT has become well established as the exhibition for companies who wish to generate new business and assess the development of the Ukraine travel market.
Several new countries joined UITT for the first time in 2011, including: Sri Lanka, Syria, Tanzania, Montenegro, Indonesia, and the Jurmala Tourism board who sought to attract Ukrainian tourists to their destinations.
Over recent years, the Ukraine government has placed a greater emphasis on developing it’s tourism industry. The Ukrainian Association of Tour Business reported that outbound traffic from Ukraine in 2010 increased by 15-20%, and an a 20% increase in 2011 is anticipated.*¹
The most popular destinations for Ukrainian tourists are Egypt, Turkey, Hungary and Slovakia. The following countries have recorded the following growth figures from the Ukraine: Germany – 100% (by 193,300 tourists), Hungary – 12% (by 186,700 tourists), Greece – 61% (by 24,000 tourists), Italy – 13% (by 13,100 tourists), Poland – 35% (by 1 million tourists), Georgia – 32% (by 7,700 tourists), Egypt – 39% (by 88,124 tourists).*². The most popular destinations for Ukrainian tourists are Egypt, Turkey, Hungary and Slovakia, who will look to maintain and grow their popularity within the Ukrainian industry.
