Great success for FCB at EIBTM Barcelona: more than 30 appointments and requests for congresses with 1300 participants within 2017. Director Carlotta Ferrari: “The destination has always a great appeal, but the demand of services has increased”. President Billi: “FCB example of teamwork for the territory”.

Last international “mission” of the year for the Florence Convention Bureau at EIBTM (Exhibitions, Incentive Business Travel and Meetings) Barcelona, held from November 29th to December 1st, 2011. Among the requests received, the support for the organization of congresses with 1300 participants in 2015. The Congress Center has also been optioned for 4 huge events from 2012 to 2017.

Great enthusiasm also for the FCB project in social media (with the activation of five accounts in 2011 on the most used networks) and mobile, with the upcoming iPhone application, the first in Italy entirely dedicated to the world congress and about to go out by next month.

The large affluence of buyers at the FCB desk shared with Firenze Fiera, has once again confirmed the value of tourism in Florence in the events market – said the FCB director Carlotta Ferrari – With a lot of interested for new hotel, restaurants, museums, event venues, itineraries and facilities. The airport was a hot topic – the director added -, we were asked about enlargement and if there will be new lines to connect Florence with other European cities“.

The provincial councilor for tourism and FCB president Giacomo Billi said: “The demand for events becomes is growing up. Today more than ever we need to find a public and private collaboration for the territory, FCB is an example of how this road is the right one“.
