Registration is now open for the 2012 Event
London, England: The Institute of Travel & Meetings (ITM) has announced the signing of BBC News Anchorman Huw Edwards as Conference moderator for the ITM 2012 Annual Conference.
The event to be held at the Principal Hayley Palace Hotel, Manchester 21st – 23rd May will host 350 senior professionals in the travel and meetings industry, registration for the event opened today.
Huw Edwards, known to millions as presenter of Britain’s most watched television news programme – the BBC Ten O’Clock News, has interviewed presidents, prime ministers and major figures in all areas of public life, including countless performers. He also presents major state events for the BBC like the State Opening of Parliament. He will open the ITM Conference with Breaking News, Sharing Views where he will interview senior business leaders and invite them to share their views on the latest industry hot topics. He will then moderate the 2 day event including joining delegates for dinner at the black-tie evening on Tuesday 22nd May.
ITM’s new CEO Simone Buckley who officially takes the helm from 1st January said ‘’we are delighted to have secured Huw for our event, we hope we will not only see his political-style interviewing in action to provide thought-provoking content from our speakers but that he will also share his countless behind the -scenes anecdotes and broadcasting bloomers’’.
ITM will offer nine newly created breakout sessions as part of the programme including ‘In the Round’ with an ‘In the Hot seat’ session and a gadget review on new business innovations. ‘The Learning Lab’ with educational workshops offering practical advice and take away tools and the ‘Directors Roundtable’, for buyers only to debate challenging topics such as Industry Affairs and the Bribery Act.
