2012 Site International Foundation Leadership Announced

CHICAGO – The Site International Foundation is pleased to introduce a distinguished list of leaders who will serve as the Foundation’s International Board of Trustees, effective 1 January 2012.

The Site International Foundation President for 2012 is Stephen Powell, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, InterContinental Hotels Group.  Mr. Powell shared his vision for the year in an official statement.

“On behalf of the Site members and the motivational events industry, it is my honor to serve as President for the Foundation. In today’s business environment, we must be equipped to define and defend our relevancy, respond quickly to shifts in the marketplace and translate new intelligence into strategies that will meet the customer needs of tomorrow.”

Mr. Powell continued, “With that in mind, in 2012 the Foundation will release the next data set for the Participant Viewpoint study, produce four Site Index studies, and enter collaborative research with like-minded associations, such as supporting the UK economic impact study. It is our hope that these studies will ignite conversations and lead to better informed business decisions.”

Serving with Mr. Powell as Officers on the Executive Committee are:

  • Immediate Past President: Steve O’Malley, Senior Vice President, Maxvantage/Maritz, Inc
  • President-Elect: Jane E. Schuldt, CITE, President, World Marketing Group Ltd.
  • Vice President: Madelyn Marusa, DMCP, Vice President, Industry Relations, PRA Destination Management
  • Vice President Finance: Penny E. Wing, President, Incentive Travel Inc / World 5 Inc., The Temperance Works

Foundation trustees include:

  • Jonathan Caplan, Senior Director of Global Sales, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide
  • David Gabri, President & CEO, Associated Luxury Hotels International
  • Martin Lewis, Managing Director, CAT Publications
  • Larry Luteran, Senior VP Group Sales and Industry Relations, Hilton Worldwide
  • Kurt Paben, Senior Vice President, Aimia (incorporating Carlson Marketing Worldwide)

  • Roger Tondeur, President, MCI Group

The mission of the Site International Foundation is carried out through the generosity of individual donors and corporate contributions. Major funding is also realized through three annual fundraising events:

  • Site Nite Europe, 21 May 2012, Frankfurt Germany
  • Site Classic, 26-29 August 2012, Aspen, Colorado
  • Site Nite North America, 8 October 2012, Las Vegas, Nevada
