On 20th January 2012 Warsaw’s Pepsi Arena hosted the official presentation of the “MICE Poland Personality of the Year 2011” Awards, granted to outstanding figures in the meetings industry. Furthermore, it was the first time in the Gala’s history that the MPI Poland Club’s “Discovery of the Year” award was presented.
The first title winner was Davide Odella, Event Manager of Grupa Trip’s Warsaw branch. MPI recognized his creativity, open-mindedness, drive for development and extraordinary initiative, both on the Polish market and in the international associations MPI and ICCA. Foreigner, from Italy, who in less than one year wonderfully adopted in polish culture and fully indentify with it promoting Poland abroad. Odella was also selected for attending the Forum for Young Professionals in Barcelona a few months ago, sponsored by ICCA/EIBTM.
“The idea of creating the prize, “Discovery of the Year MPI Poland” was born 1 year ago. Its purpose is to award those who distinguish themselves in the polish scene for their creativity and commitment in the meetings industry” – says Wojciech Liszka president of MPI Poland Club. – “The Award, aims to introduce people with great potential to the meeting industry and motivate them to continue the path taken in personal development.”
“The award as Discovery of the Year 2011 is an honour to me and actually shows me again how much Poland and his players invest in young professionals! I’m grateful to MICE Poland and MPI for that. But first of all, I am grateful to Grupa Trip, the Company that 1 year ago believed in me, and to the daily job and support (also linguistic, at the beginning…) of my colleagues, whose made concrete all our successes. After only a few months in a foreign Country I already felt at home!”, says Davide Odella.
