The Motivation Month campaign also supports the overall UK wide ‘Britain for Events’ annual messaging, which was designed to promote Britain as a world class destination for all types of events, which is supported by the UK Government.
Barbara Jamison said: “I’m delighted to be taking on the important role of Site President for the GB Chapter. London & Partners recognises the unparalleled opportunity to partner with Site to connect to a global audience of event planners and business members who create motivational experience throughout the world. As the recession has seen many changes in the industry, the Site GB Chapter will really be concentrating on highlighting the real tangible benefits which come with creating motivational events. Many of the Site members look to London to bring business and events and we want to ensure that we provide both support and networking opportunities both now and in the future.”
Jamison’s role as President will mean she will work with the Site GB Chapter Board to deliver the UK chapter’s vision for the next year as well as further membership growth, a compelling educational programme and the building of relationships between the industry and the association globally.
The current President of Site UK, Faye Bennett, Sales Manager for the IMEX Group, said: “I have enjoyed my tenure as President of the Site UK Chapter enormously over the past year. It has brought me in touch with new people and professional contacts, many of whom I’m sure will turn into lifelong friends and it’s also challenged and expanded my thinking about the sector. I wish Barbara the very best of luck with Motivation Month and with her objectives for the next 12 months and I know that the UK Chapter will give her its wholehearted and enthusiastic support.”
Jamison concluded: “I’m very excited about taking on this new role. These are challenging times for the events industry. I want to develop a tighter and more supportive community within the MICE industry and we will be shortly announcing our new board. We have the world’s biggest event coming to London this year and therefore this is the time for the industry to step forward, work together and show global businesses that events are still the most effective way of communicating and engaging stakeholders.”
