SpringHill Suites, an all-suite brand by Marriott International (NYSE:MAR), announced its first SpringHill Suites hotel in New York City.  Marriott will manage the 173-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott New York City/Manhattan Midtown, in the Herald Square area, on behalf of  joint partners Hidrock Realty Inc. and Robert Finvarb Companies, LLC.

Construction on the 19-story new-build hotel, located at 25 West 37th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues, began this year and is expected to be completed in 2013.

“The hotel, centrally located in Midtown’s dynamic Times Square South area, represents an excellent opportunity to introduce the SpringHill Suites product to the Manhattan market,” said David Marriott, chief operations officer — Eastern Region, The Americas.   “The site is well positioned to accommodate corporate business from nearby office buildings, including the new Bank of America tower, and tourist business from Midtown’s top tourist attractions.”

Business travelers can take advantage of a large, well-lit desk with ergonomic chair, two phone lines and voice mail.  Free Wi-Fi in the hotel’s lobby and high-speed internet access in every suite allow guests to remain connected at all times.
