Museum Night Fever, Night of the Brussels Museums (5th edition)
Saturday 3 March 2012, from 7pm until 1am, in 24 Brussels museums + Red Bull Elektropedia afterparties

Museum Night Fever is back on Saturday 3 March 2012 featuring Brussels museums as you’ve never seen them before!

This year no fewer than 24 museums* will be participating: a new record! They are working with schools, academies, youth clubs, artists’ collectives and other young talents to produce an offbeat programme of events comprising exhibitions, performances, concerts, DJs, video, dance, workshops and circus.

To give you something of an idea of what is being planned, you’ll be able to take part in a poetic and absurd happening/flash mob at the Museum of the City of Brussels, while at the Centre for Fine Arts you’ll have an opportunity to show off your musical talents on the large stage of the Henri Leboeuf Hall or enjoy a ‘clockwork concert’ in the Horta Hall (with music switching continents and styles every 10 minutes). The Cinquantenaire Museum will also be seeing the whole world pass by: new arrivals will be reinterpreting the major cultures exhibited using their own music, dance and voices.

Meanwhile the Museum of the Armed Forces next door is staging a crazy evening featuring a formidable mix of electro and warlike tones, while the Aviation Hall will be given over to a sound and light spectacle. At the Ixelles Museum the evening will be devoted to cabaret and the Belle Epoque, and in the underground passages of the Coudenberg you will be taken back to the days of Charles the Fifth with theatrical performances and tall tales.
At the Museum of Musical Instruments you’ll be spoilt by concerts by groups such as SX or Sioen. If you’re in need of something a little quieter, then the Museum of Ancient Art will be
attempting a silent mob! And also not to be forgotten is the acrobatic dance performance at the Museum of Natural Sciences and the graffiti evening at the Royal Library. Etc. etc.

New this year is a whole range of activities taking place outside the museums. AmuseeVous will be positioning young artists in front of around 7 museums. Drawing inspiration from these museums, they’ll be surprising the public with highly original performances.
And for those of you still brimming with energy even after the museums have closed their doors, the night will go on at one of the Red Bull Elektropedia afterparties at Fuse and You Night Club.
The full programme is available online on www.museumnightfever.be from 6 February
