DirectRooms.com releases details on the 21st International Education Fair, which is being held over the course on 16th, 18th, and 19th February 2012.
Russia’s largest education exhibition held on an international scale, this event is being held at the Hotel Astoria in St. Petersburg. This fair is an opportunity for students and their parents to learn about the benefits of studying in a different country.
This event is put on by the Interuniversity Centre for International Educational Programmes (ICIEP), and last year had a programme of 107 exhibitors. These exhibitors came from 22 different countries, from organizations including the Canadian Embassy, the Spanish Embassy, and the German Academic Exchange Service. The programme for 2012 is bound to highlight a similar range of cultures. The representatives of these countries discuss the different perspectives that can be gained by studying in a different country. Most often, the representative is a member of a governmental body, such as the arm that deals with education promotion.
Every day of the fair, the exhibitions go on from noon until 5pm. The exhibitions usually receive extensive coverage in the local media, including print media, radio coverage, and internet exposure. This festival has gained much attention locally in recent years, which coincides with the fact that many Russian parents have turned increasingly to investments in their country’s education. The confirmed list of exhibitors will be confirmed by the ICIEP in January 2012.
St Petersburg hotels are many and varied, which means that they are a feasible option for many different types of travellers. It never hurts to play it safe, so potential visitors from out of town are well advised to book their accommodation ahead of time.
