AIBTM 2012 Education – of significant importance to the US Meetings Industry

AIBTM (www.aibtm.com) has doubled the number of sessions that will be delivered to the meetings industry in conjunction with leading associations, as part of AIBTM’s Americas Meetings Week.  Some 30 concurrent sessions over the course of the event will deliver ground breaking industry topics, updates on global economic challenges, inspire through personal motivational anecdotes, discussions on social media implications and investigate the positive impact of meetings.

Alexander Blass, an internationally acclaimed American innovator and entrepreneur will kick off AIBTM’s Education Day with his keynote session: ‘Priceless Strategies from an Innovator – How to thrive in challenging times’.  Alexander will share his passion, vision, and vividly enriching life and business experiences in his motivational approach to reflecting on the continuing global economic challenges, how they may impact the meetings industry and what implications this may hold for business leaders in the future.

Digital innovation will also be a key component in this year’s programme. Led by digital event specialist Michael Doyle, Executive Director of the Virtual Edge Institute, the VEI’s track will feature two sessions during AIBTM’s Education Day. AIBTM Education Day will also feature a series of tracks covering topics such as “Event Productivity and the Power of Connection” and “Transforming Teams into Customer Care Crusaders” from which attendees can learn how to make the most out of meetings and events as well as effective time management tips from the experts of the industry.

Following on from the recent headlines “AIG Effect”, “Don’t go to Las Vegas!” and “Lavish GSA Conference” Roger Rickard, Partner & Chief Advocate, Revent, LLC and Founder of Voices in Advocacy™ is set to moderate the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Meetings Significance Forum at AIBTM, The Americas Meetings & Events Exhibition this year. His session will discuss the significant impact that face-to-face meetings have on the economy, business, science, technology, diplomacy and all forms of socio-economic relationships at the local, national, or international level.

The AIBTM Education programme will conclude with a motivational speech from renowned Director of the Brain Tumour Surgery Program at Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Centre, Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa.  Known today as Dr. Q, he will share his insight into what it takes to get ahead and beat the odds.
