May 2012 – The Congress has been the largest Endocrinology congress in Europe with over 2000 abstracts submitted and with over 2000 pax downloading the congress App. From May 5th to 9th all gurus of Endocrinology were in Florence, cuddle by AIM’s personnel.
AIM Group International Florence Office was encharged as local organizer in 2008, at the time of the bidding process.
Our role has been to manage the entire Social Programme, Personnel, Tours, Hotel accommodation and all services for the exhibitors, as well as transfers. We were also encharged of the organization of a press conference for the National Society and the Local Host Committee.
AIM was also in charge for the organization of the congress of the Italian Society of Endocrinology who held their annual meeting previous to the ICE-ECE Congress start, on May 5th.
The very special Social Programme was varied: from the Welcome Cocktail in the Exhibition congress halls with the entertainment of jugglers, waders, with special dressing and fireworks. The Gala Dinner saw the historical Palazzo Corsini hosting more than 1000 pax in its enchanting atmosphere. Flagwavers welcomed all guests in typical historical Florentine custom. A concert with 46 choristers and elements was held in the Church of San Lorenzo with 500 delegates. The President dinner in Palazzo Borghese ended the social events with the luxury and splendor of gold of baroque period.
A “Florentine Village” with special local Tuscany products, from paintings to glass, to ceramic, to leather products to oil, wine, biscuits, olives, finocchiona and salami from the typical Tuscan cuisine attracted all delegates right in the commercial congress exhibition. The Florentine Steak could be bought and shipped at home thanks to the very good organization put in place by AIM.
Francesca Manzani, head of the AIM office in Florence, commented: “The Florentine Village has been a great experience: AIM Group International is a pioneer in Italy and it was also the first time a commercial village was organized in an Endocrinology Congress. A record for both AIM and the Congress!”
