During the ICCA Member Networking Reception at the second day of the 10th edition of IMEX in Frankfurt last week, ICCA and IMEX celebrated 10 years of partnership.
“ICCA is extremely proud to have been one of IMEX’s founding partners and, over the last 10 years, we have used the show to create our most extensive annual activity programme outside our own Congress,” said ICCA President Arnaldo Nardone.
“Each year IMEX comes up with new innovations and business opportunities, refusing to rest on its existing reputation. IMEX’s commitment to innovation and experimentation is something that keeps the show fresh and attractive to both association buyers and ICCA members alike.”
International associations continue to be the most resilient sector, and ICCA has been co-organiser of IMEX Association Day from the start. ICCA’s research has identified over 60% more series of regularly occurring international association meetings compared to ten years ago – there were 10,000 of these events taking place in 2011, and ICCA believes this trend is going to continue upwards, fuelled by accelerating progress in science, technology and medical research.
ICCA’s membership has grown by over 50% since the first IMEX, from 600 to over 950 member companies and organisations in 87 countries worldwide. ICCA members’ participation in IMEX has grown even faster – one reason why it is so simple for ICCA to organise such a successful programme of activities around the show.
Mr. Arnaldo Nardone: “Our 10 years of partnership with three different ICCA Presidents has always been one of great professionalism, great business, but also of great friendship. We are very proud of this 10-year milestone and want to congratulate IMEX on their achievements and their valuable contribution to the international meetings industry in the past decade.”
