LSO St Luke’s was chosen as the host venue for the launch of a new mobile service CTExcelbiz from China Telecom (Europe). The event to celebrate CTExcelbiz was attended by a host of Chinese and UK dignitaries who took in the splendour of Jerwood Hall during a high tech launch party.
The event saw the venue transformed, with individual pods around the side of the hall and LED panels around the balcony, to stage the official launch of CTExcelbiz MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) service which is a customized mobile service aimed at meeting the specific communication requirements of the Chinese residing and travelling in the UK. More than 200 Chinese and British guests attended the event, including the Chinese Ambassador to the UK H.E. Ambassador Liu Xiaoming and Lord Green of Hurstpierpoint, the Minister of State for Trade and Investment.
Lucy Walker, acting sales and events manager at LSO St Luke’s, comments: “The event held by China Telecom (Europe) in Jerwood Hall is an example of the venue’s versatility. It was great to see how our venue can be transformed from a space usually associated with the LSO and its musical activities into something innovatively high tech. We were delighted by the decision of China Telecom (Europe) to hold their launch ceremony at LSO St Luke’s and it is a testament to the hard work of the venue’s whole team that the event ran so smoothly.”
