CIBTM DEVELOPS BUSINESS TRAVEL SECTOR IN CHINA WITH DEDICATED EDUCATION STREAM

The China and Asia Meetings Industry Research Report 2011 confirms Business Travel has significant growth potential in Meetings Industry 

CIBTM (www.cibtm.com), The China Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition has formed a strategic partnership with ACTE (The Association for Corporate Travel Executives) and is set to deliver a stream of dedicated Business Travel education sessions that will support the growth potential for this sector in the region.

Jeffrey Xu, Reed Travel Exhibitions, Project Manager CIBTM commented, “Last year’s China and Asia Meetings Industry Research Report revealed that 66% of the Hosted Buyers who attended were involved in Business Travel. Our new partnership with ACTE will deliver a unique level of knowledge, insight and expertise to all attendees, supporting both Hosted Buyer and Trade visitors in achieving their business objectives.”

The Business Travel education streams, moderated by Ron DeLio, Executive Director, ACTE and Benson Tang, Regional Director, Asia, ACTE are designed to provide attendees with a greater understanding of the best practices in Business Travel when dealing with a unique economic environment such as China.

China Meetings Week will kick off with “Optimising Your Business Travel Spend: Do’s and Don’ts for Building and Implementing a Travel Policy” (Tuesday 12th September, 10am), a session dedicated to identifying key drivers and highlighting pitfalls when developing and implementing travel policies in a unique marketplace, such as China.

The second session in the Business Travel line up will identify which payment processes are realistically deliverable within regional constraints as corporations and suppliers describe how and when alternative payment methods can work in the region. “Improve Finance Processes and Optimise Travel Payment Systems in China” (Tuesday 12th September, 4pm) will consider the role of the Corporate Credit Card in China.

Wednesday will kick off with a panel discussion, “Delivering Savings in an Upbeat China Market” (13th September, 10am) which will identify tactics for negotiating local deals and identify the value they can bring to a company. The panel of industry experts will share examples of measurable methods that will achieve savings on process, procurement and management costs.

The final session in the Business Travel line up at CIBTM will explore ways of using corporate travel policy to enhance and strengthen company profiles in Asia and beyond. “How to Use Corporate Travel Policy to Build the Enterprise-wide Company Image” will explore Corporate Social Responsibility and Green Initiatives (Wednesday 13th September, 4pm).

Through this partnership with ACTE, the education track will draw even more Hosted Buyers from the business travel sector to attend the show, which in turn will deliver more opportunities for business travel suppliers exhibiting at CIBTM.

CIBTM 2012 takes place on the 12th-14th September 2012.
