Research confirms 78% of Hosted Buyers attending EIBTM, prioritise keeping up to date with the latest products and trends in the industry

Year on year, the Technology Village@EIBTM (www.eibtm.com/tech) has grown in size recognising the impact that the sector is having on the meetings industry and as a result, 2012 is expected to have the biggest number of exhibitors to date.  Post show research among the 3,961 Hosted Buyers who attended EIBTM 2011 showed that 78% wanted to see the latest products and learn about new trends whilst at the show.

Last year some 50 technology companies were represented at EIBTM across a broad spectrum of the industry, from abstract and speaker management companies to online event and meetings management tools. Exhibitors also attended from online registration companies, virtual meetings providers, Smart phone App developers and many more.

The EIBTM 2011 Industry Trends and Market Share Report highlighted that ‘Technological advances have continued to evolve in a manner that provides destination marketing organisations, venues and conference planners with innovative solutions to enable them to work faster and better at all stages of the conference lifecycle. Our industry has shown itself to be eager to leverage these continuing advances in technology.’

“There are so many opportunities for technology exhibitors attending EIBTM. In addition to the dedicated technology area on the show floor, which allows exhibitors to showcase their latest innovations, EIBTM delivers genuine business leads through the pre-scheduled appointment system, enabling exhibitors to meet with senior level Hosted Buyers on a one-to-one basis. There are also dedicated streams of education with a daily tech hour and EIBTM Technology Watch, the most high profile and longest running technology recognition scheme for innovation in the meetings and events industry.

As well as establishing themselves as key players in the industry, exhibitors will also have the opportunity to be a part of the popular Future Events Experience area and benefit from additional networking opportunities, live product demonstrations and innovative interactive ePosters, ” said Graeme Barnett, Reed Travel Exhibitions, EIBTM Event Director.

Mike Sorgani, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of US-based ITN International, who won the EIBTM 2011 Technology Watch comments on his participation at EIBTM 2011, “The leads we generated and the contacts we made were extraordinary, I will give you just one example.  Eleven days after EIBTM, we found ourselves in front of the producer of the world’s largest corporate event, describing how our technology could add excitement to their event.  The invitation to visit the producer’s offices and make a presentation stemmed directly from our participation in EIBTM.  This particular opportunity is huge and we owe it to EIBTM.”
