New meta-meta flight search engine compares Google flights with Kayak, Hipmunk, Bing, Fly.com and more
Cheapflightsfinder.com revealed a new meta-meta search engine today that allows consumers to quickly compare prices from 16 metasearch engines including Google flights, Kayak, Fly.com, Hipmunk, Bing, Momondo, Mobissimo, Skyscanner, Tripadvisor, Travelgrove, Easyvoyage, Liligo and more.
The new meta-meta search engine is the first in the world to compare over a dozen metasearch engines and presents a far greater selection of flights than one metasearch engine can offer on its own.
A recent study by the site revealed that Google flights was one of the poorest peformers when compared head to head on price with other flight aggregators.
“Detailed comparison of the metasearch engines threw up some surprising results” – said Shah Sid, CEO and founder of Cheapflightsfinder.com.
“Google flights was beaten consistently by a number of different aggregators on over 60 international flight routes”
Cheapflightsfinder analysed over 160 random flights from major US airports
to 8 international destinations in May and June 2012:
Results showed a vast difference between the cheapest available flight than those found on Google flights:
Here is a summary of the average increases found on Google:
USA to Paris – Google flights $245.55 more
USA to Rome – Google flights $255.27 more
USA to Amsterdam – Google flights $290.94 more
USA to London – Google flights $48.90 more
USA to Dubai – Google flights $112.50 more
USA to Beijing – Google flights $140.88 more
USA to Tokyo – Google flights $152.66 more
USA to Sydney – Google flights $267.55 more
The report concluded that the winning aggregator was highly unpredictable and varied from search to search.
Cheapflightsfinder says its new search engine will surprise many by showing that lesser known search engines can dramatically beat their bigger rivals. They now present meta-meta flight search as the long awaited remedy to the flaws and deficiencies affecting individual metasearch solutions.
