Chapter to celebrate benchmark anniversary’s at its annual flagship event.

MPI UK and Ireland Chapter is inviting meeting industry professionals to join them at its annual general meeting on 17 September, 2012 – an event which will celebrate the Chapter’s 18th birthday alongside the association’s 40th anniversary.

The event will take place in St Martin’s Hall and Gallery in the Crypt, St Martins-in-the-Field, Trafalgar Square.

The chapter’s flagship event is open to members and non members who are interested in joining MPI and the opportunities it offers. Attendees will hear special announcements about the Chapter’s future, get an insight into how the organisation can help their professional and educational development and the resources available to them through membership. The event also provides an opportunity for meeting and event professionals to celebrate everything the MPI UK and Ireland Chapter has achieved in the last 18 years and the legacy of MPI globally during the last 40 years.

MPI membership is comprised of more than 21,000 members belonging to 71 chapters and clubs worldwide. MPI membership benefits include access to extensive networking, educational and professional resources.

Samme Allen, MPI UK and Ireland President and head of sales at the Barbican, says: “MPI is the event industry’s most vibrant global community. Our aim is to help members become more successful by giving them the opportunities to build better connections through knowledge, ideas, relationships and marketplaces. Our AGM is a great place to learn more about what we do and what it offers.”

“Our flagship event will not only outline our future plans to provide members with professional development tools, but will offer excellent opportunities to network with likeminded meeting industry and event professionals. We are inviting non members to attend so they can meet members and see firsthand why they should be part of MPI and how the tools we provide can help them develop and become more successful. We look forward to welcoming existing and future members of our organisation as we celebrate this special occasion.
