While debate on the use of stem cells and its possible medical applications continues worldwide, the most important international researchers will meet in Florence from 15 to 18 September 2013 for a prestigious conference with more than 700 delegates.
The event is organized by the International Society for Stem Cell Research, which chose Florence thanks to the Florence Convention Bureau bid, which has passed other important destinations including Ljubljana and Hannover. An event that will bring to the city a high number of doctors and researchers, attracted by the importance of the issues under discussion.
The event of September 2013 is the first date of two different edition as the International Society for Stem Cell Research has already signed an agreement to double the initiative in September 2015.
“An event of great importance, which will allow Florence to act as a place for discussion on a topic of great interest, such as stem cell research: it will take in our city several hundred participants and ensure important presences for the hospitality industry” said the director of the Florence Convention Bureau, Carlotta Ferrari. “A concrete proof of how the activities of the Convention Bureau – continues Ferrari – have a strategic impact on Florence as a major destination for congress tourism, which remains a valuable resource for the local economy.
Winning a conference and exceed international competitors is always more complicated, but the growing number of acquired events shows that the Convention Bureau has now achieved the necessary expertise to realized concrete results and sell a destination like Florence which – we know – has a very strong appeal, but that, by itself, is not enough. “
