Leading travel operator Thomas Cook offers its suggestions on some of the best places to visit in Greece this autumn.

Anyone looking to book a late deal or just a low-season deal might wish to head to Greece this autumn. Not only does the country boast a great climate of fantastic clear blue skies and glorious sunshine during this time of the year, but the country is relatively cheap to visit at the moment, too.

Greece is a culturally rich and vibrant country with plenty of things to see and do for all ages. In short, Greece has it all; a treasure chest of hidden gems. From the mighty Acropolis and Parthenon in Athens to the lush green rolling hills and the crystal clear waters and beautiful beaches of the rest of the country, Greece holidays offer a host of different experiences.

Thomas Cook reveals just a few of the top spots in Greece to visit this autumn.

Rhodes

Rhodes holidays are extremely popular as they offer everything you need for a relaxing beach holiday. Sun, sea, sand and scenic settings make Rhodes the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy your holiday. Rhodes offers the best sunshine on record of all the Greek islands, too, so for an autumn getaway you have more chance of sunshine here than anywhere else in Greece. The island is bursting with a rich history and the Old Town is not to be missed. The beaches are among some of the safest and cleanest in Europe.

Kefalonia

Another great destination for holidaymakers looking for an autumn getaway is Kefalonia. This is the largest of the Ionian Islands, made famous by the novel and movie Captain Corellis Mandolin. Home to spectacular scenery, rocky terrain against a blanket of trees and olive groves, Kefalonia holidays can be a great holiday destination for nature lovers during the autumn months. But if all you want to do is chill out and relax on a beach, you can certainly do that here too.

Kos

Kos is a firm favourite amongst British holidaymakers – and with good reason. The Grecian island has a range of good resorts, natural sights and historic ruins. All of this combined with stunning beaches, ancient chapels and a whirlwind nightlife, so it’s easy to see why cheap holidays to Kos are widely available and in high demand.
