Easier for American citizen to enter Russia following visa free regime in South America

Good news released by the US Embassy in Moscow about a Historic bilateral Visa Agreement USA & Russia from September 9th, 2012. These are fantastic news especially when Russia is preparing for the winter Olympics in Sochi and other international Russian Sport Events in Sochi, Moscow or St. Petersburg where Russkie Prostori operates their own offices – (see the companies Russian Sport Hospitality sitehttp://sport.russkie-prostori.com).

Summary: 

  • Multiple Visas for 3 years (standard default terms for tourism & business visas)
  • Reduced fees
  • Visa Support documentation and hotel reservation required (Russkie Prostori is registered with the Foreign Ministry)
  • Visa processing time under 15 days
  • Limited stay 180 days (previously 90 days)
  • Valid only for new visas

Cruise Ship exception of visas for 72 hours (waiver is still valid for all cruise ship passengers arriving to St. Petersburg provided that they are with an organized tour at all times, accompanied by Russkie Prostori or a tour operator) that has been duly licensed by Russian authorities.

So far Visas has been waived for South Americans visiting Russia as well for Russian citizen visiting South American countries.
