The Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) is to host the second workshop in its TechNOphobia series on November 12th at De Vere Wokefield, focusing this time on hybrid events.

Entitled ‘Hybrid events – exploding the myths, exploring the possibilities’, the workshop will look at different levels of hybrid event, the technology enablers required, potential pitfalls and some tips for using hybrid, delivered by AV and hybrid specialists ESW.  There will also be a case study presentation from ABPCO member Ben Bradley of The Methodist Church, in addition to a demonstration of ESW’s Talking Slides conference capture and streaming solution.

The TechNOphobia series is designed to provide PCOs with a hands-on experience, including practical demonstrations of new technology and case studies.  They are suitable for all levels of knowledge and experience, aiming to offer an ‘amnesty’ to those who may be less familiar with new event technology but are keen to understand more in order to advise clients. With hybrid events undoubtedly being a hot topic in the industry, this particular workshop is designed to assist PCOs and event organisers in getting to grips with how hybrid technology can be used to create better events for their clients

ABPCO Chair Michael Foreman commented: “We understand the importance of our members staying ahead of the curve when it comes to developing trends and new technologies in the conference industry. With hybrid events being the much discussed topic of the moment we are very pleased to be able to deliver a practical demonstration and discussion as to what is meant by the term hybrid. We encourage PCOs to attend and get hands on with hybrid, while also sharing their experiences and questions with a group of their peers.”
