BOBtv from bXb Online, a global online event platform designed specifically for events and associations, has been awarded this year’s EIBTM Technology Watch (www.eibtm.com/techwatchwinner) for its innovation and use of technology to support the improvement of event management.
bXb Online and five runners up were selected from 56 applications by an expert panel of industry professionals who scored the entries based on innovation, completeness of concept, and the value of the product to the meetings industry.
BOBtv, bXb Online’s innovative technology, is a global online platform which provides a solution for making event content available for remote attendees either live or on-demand by utilising video as an event communication vehicle and delivering key learnings remotely via hybrid meetings. BOBtv encompasses two significant trends, which were both decisive factors in the judging process for the award.

bXb Online will present their winning product at EIBTM 2012 at the Future Events Experience on the show floor at 14:30 on Wednesday, 28 November. As part of the award, bXb Online have also been awarded a stand within the Technology and Events Services Village and can be found at stand N120.
In addition to the overall winner, the EIBTM Technology Watch award also included five finalists whose entries highlighted significant technology trends within the industry.
ATIV Software’s Event Pilot is an interactive mobile APP which includes a complete and searchable conference schedule, an agenda builder as well as social media integration and mapping. Event Pilot is designed for complex scientific meetings and conferences with thousands of presentations and poster sessions.
MERA Labs, NiceMeeting transforms attendees’ mobile devices, such as the iPad, iPhone and Android tablet into a full-featured personal presentation slide display units which also includes chats, polling and file exchange between delegates.
EventMobi has been recognised for their pioneering work using HTML5 to produce multipurpose APPs for event attendees. EventMobi has also been acknowledged for EventMobi Fusion is the industry’s first event APP that works across all devices and does not require internet connection.
Zerista have designed a multi-featured event APP and web platform which includes match making and social media integration such as automatic qualified lead generation and personalised digital libraries which include session content, multimedia offerings and exhibitor marketing documents.
Sherpa is a consistent innovator for the meetings and tradeshow industries and their entry, WaveLocator is a unique indoor positioning system which uses ultrasound instead of GPS or a Wi-fi based system.

The EIBTM Technology Watch Award is the most high profile and longest running recognition scheme for innovation in the meetings industry worldwide. This years entries showed a clear trend in mobile technology innovation as well as lead exchange/QR codes, ERFP/sourcing, social media/matchmaking, room diagramming/floor plans, gaming, registration and abstract management, document distribution and virtual events/tradeshows.
