Kenes Media won the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA) 2012 Gold Award in the category of Best Social Media Campaign for the Autoimmunity Network.

The Autoimmunity Network was launched in December of 2010 with the aim of consolidating the scientific dialogue before, during and after three main events in the field of autoimmunity originating in three different regions:

Autoimmunity 2012: Held in Grenada, Spain, May 2012

5th Autoimmunity Congress (ACA 2011): Held in Singapore, November 2011

14th APLA and the 4th LACA: Held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, September 2013

With the understanding that a scientific dialogue on the Autoimmunity Network would forward medical science in the field of autoimmunity and provide many international specialists the ability to share for the first time on-line scientific dialogue, Kenes Media strived to create an exclusive online networking platform for professional engagement.

The success of the Autoimmunity Network was quantifiable, with approximately 3-4% of network members registering for the event. Besides contributing to increased congress attendance, the social media component also strengthened brand loyalty in comparison to previous events. Engagement in the Autoimmunity Network platform, as measured by the amount of community members who revisited the network as well as the number of pages viewed, was also noteworthy.

The Autoimmunity Network is a logical extension of the networks created during meetings and will lead to improved knowledge exchange and professional networking – ultimately leading to enhanced medical education and better treatment for patients worldwide.
