At the 20th anniversary of the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT), Uruguay will participate at the exhibition for the first time. MITT is Russia’s largest travel exhibition, in 2012 the show attracted over 3,000 exhibitors and an attendance of 82,933.

Minister Liliam Kechichián, Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Uruguay said, “Since we have a temperate climate, Uruguay is a country that can be visited throughout the year and tourists can enjoy different tourist options including, rural tourism, wine tourism, thermal baths, and whale watching. After the suppression of visas between Uruguay and Russia there have been positive results, from September 2011 to September 2012the number of Russian visitors has increased by 36%. Our objective is to double the number of tourists from Russia in the next two years. By exhibiting we aim to increase the awareness of our country brand (Uruguay Natural) in the Russian market.

Maria Badakh, Head of Sales, ITE Group plc commented, “We are delighted to welcome another Latin America country to the 20th edition of MITT. For Uruguay, MITT will be an excellent opportunity to meet the Russian outbound tourism industry, and promote their destination to Russian tourists. We wish them a successful and productive exhibition.”
