Huge cable drums and fully laden material trucks still dominate the scene at the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf. A few days before the BAMBI Award ceremony, everybody in and around the festival hall is working with a vengeance. Members of the staff of DüsseldorfCongress help with installing the complex event technology, the stage equipment and the electricity supply.
When the media prizes are awarded on Thursday, the building will show what it is capable of. The ceiling of the hall, 2.165 square metres in size, faces a challenge with its suspension points: they have to bear a total load of 51 tons – amongst which several thousand flood lights equipped with state-of-the-art LED technology. „The load on the ceiling of the hall is around one third greater than at the BAMBI Award ceremony 2007. In addition, approx. 3,000 running meters of cross beams will be installed in the whole house “, says Philipp von der Heyden-Rynsch, technical manager at DüsseldorfCongress.
For the Gala evening, his team will provide a total electric power capacity of 4,000 kilovolt-ampere. This is the double of the electric power capacity provided at the last BAMBI Award ceremony in Düsseldorf. Which means: BAMBI will become even more glamorous, the technology even more sophisticated. The BAMBI Award is another show event that demonstrates once again the capabilities of the different venues in the State Capital.
After 2007, this is the second time that the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf hosts the BAMBI Award. The prize, whose tradition dates back to 1948, is awarded every year by Hubert Burda Media.
