Congrex announced today the winner of its Celebrating 30 years of Congrex Industry Expert Win Expert Advice competition, the prize goes to the International Apparel Federation (http://iafnet.eu). This is an international trade organisation whose membership includes national associations and companies dedicated to its core business from sourcing through to the consumer retail level.

Congrex asked current and potential clients, partners and other stakeholders to submit the greatest challenges that they face in the areas of Association Management, Meetings/events strategy, and Meetings/Conference & Events Management. Out of all submissions presented, a panel of Congrex experts selected the final winner which is awarded with 30 hours of complimentary consultancy services by a Congrex team who will address their issue.

Han Bekke, Secretary General from the International Apparel Federation says “Our challenge is to increase the number of corporate members of our international federation on the basis of high value added services…market information, global responsibility, innovation, and education. Additionally our challenge extends to having at least 1,000 delegates participating (now 300) at our 30th annual convention to be held in 2014. We took part in the Congrex 30 Years campaign because we know Congrex stays in tune with the top issues facing organisers and its membership base today. It is an issue for many of us to keep meetings relevant and to learn to adapt to the new ways and most effective means to communicate. We feel very confident that we will learn much from our work with Congrex and look forward to working with them towards the goals that we have set for ourselves.”

The winner was selected from a group of organisations with a wide selection of representation within both private and public sectors. In choosing from the list of entries into the competition the Congrex panel had to take into consideration a challenge which they believed a majority of organisations face today. The challenge selected contained two important components of relevance to others including how to manage the free-flow of information in our society and prove a healthy ROI (return on investment) for the membership base. A case study of the actual consultancy project will be published in a coming Meet! magazine html edition.

Commenting on the competition and its importance to Congrex, Chief Operating Officer, Rob Harrison says “Over the years Congrex has evolved to continue to meet the needs of its clients and partners to stay in tune with the dynamic conditions of the marketplace. Today Congrex is poised to continue serving its partners and stakeholders by bringing the value of its three decades of seasoned experience in business to everything we offer. The 30 Years competition is about highlighting our excellence in services and our dedication to our partners and stakeholders. The winner selected brings a challenge to the table faced by many of us at the moment and we know there is much to learn from the way in which we all navigate through these challenges. Congrex provides its support and applies the solutions we know will benefits and value our clients. We know that’s what we do best – since 30 years and for 30 to come.”
