European Best Events Awards, the winners of the 2012 edition

Seventh edition for the European version of the Awards created by ADC Group and dedicated to the excellences of the event industry. The ceremony, hosted by Kris&Kris, was held in Milan on Thursday, 15th November. At first place, the German BBDOLive, followed by two Spanish agencies.

A huge success for this edition of the show: 146 entries (compared to 99 in 2011, +50% of growth) by 68 agencies from 19 countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and UK.

The events were judged by a jury composed by 32 representatives from agencies, companies, media and associations, and chaired by Carlo Hermes, managing Director at Hermes & Partner.

For the second year (the first one was in 2010) the ceremony was hosted by Kris&Kris.

THE PODIUM

Among the 146 projects included in the European Events Annual (that automatically take part in EuBEA), 62 were shortlisted. Among these, the jury, gathered on 1st October at Atahotel Expo Fiera in Milan chose to give the Golden Elephant to the German agency BBDOLive for the project ‘smart Eball’, realised for Daimler and belonging to the category ‘Public Event’.

A spectacular test-drive event with the electric smart, held at Iaa Frankfurt, the biggest motor show in the world. The aim of the event was to show that electric cars, a part frm being ecological, are fun to drive and they offer great performances. To do that, they chose a game ispired by Pong, able to make the participants feel live the acceleration experience.

At second place came the Spanish SCP – Sistemas de Comunicacciòn Puntual y Marketing, that realised the event ‘Innovation and making things happen’ for Repsol-Deme, (Internal Event / Convention).

At third place, another Spanish agency, General de Producciones y Diseño (GPD), with her project ‘Commemoration of the 8th Centenary of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela’, (Cultural Event) realised for Consortium of Santiago de Compostela.

THE OTHER AWARDS

At first place for the European Best Event Agency it’s a tie between BBDOLive and Vok Dams Agency for Events and Live-Marketing. The first, apart from ‘smart Eball’, also for ‘125 years of Bosch – anniversary gala’, created and realised for Robert Bosch and first prize in the category ‘Celebration Festivity’. They were followed by another tie, between Jung von Matt/relations and Wilkewerk.

The European Best Event Company was won by Volkswagen Group, with Daimler Crysler on second place and Philips on a third place.

During the ceremony, 15 category prizes were awarded and 7 to technical excellences.

Bea Expo Festival and European Bea Awards were organised in collaboration with: Spazio Eventiquattro, STS Communication, Area Kitchen, Turné Eventi, MB Management, Lazzaretti Top Service, Sermedia, Lusofilm, Gruppo CSC, Mou Factory, New Light, Pixart Printing, Ivan Calosso, Fabric Images, Souldesigner, Rocco Speranza.
