STAND No. NA383

Delegates attending World Travel Market will be given the opportunity to contribute to a unique, interactive art installation celebrating sustainable tourism practices.

Following its ‘Message in 1,100 Bottles’ sculpture at last year’s show – a plastic bottle homage to Rodin’s The Thinker, urging the industry to think about waste reduction policies – the Travel Foundation is hoping exhibitors and visitors alike will share their sustainability success stories, ambitions and inspirations to create a mural that will be a lasting reminder that more sustainable holidays are better holidays.

An artist will be on-site throughout the show to take submissions from delegates, turning them into upbeat visual representations that will form part of an evolving artwork, aimed at inspiring change in the tourism industry.

You can contribute your sustainable tourism story, inspiration or ambition to the piece in one of three ways:

Via Twitter: send your suggestion using the hashtag #WTMscribbles, and follow @TravelTF for daily news and pictures

Sue Hurdle, chief executive of the Travel Foundation, said: “We are inspired daily by the stories we hear about the work being done to make tourism more sustainable, and hope the WTM crowd will rise to the occasion and share their experiences, hopes and inspirations to help make this project a huge success.”

Following WTM, the artwork will be on display at the Travel Foundation’s Bristol head office, before playing an integral role  the Travel Foundation’s 10th anniversary celebrations next year.
