2nd Malaysia MICE Journalism Award winners announced
Kuching: The search for Malaysia MICE Journalism Award 2012 winners came to an end as the winning journalists were awarded for their journalistic excellence at the 6th Anak Sarawak Appreciation Award today.
The Edge reporter Nurul Iman Dimyati won the MICE in Malaysia category with her report titled, Are We Moving in the Right Direction?
For the MICE in Sarawak Category, business reporter from Borneo Post Justin Yap was announced as the winner. Yap who was the previous runner-up for MMJA 2011 was ecstatic that his article, ‘MICE: Showcasing Sarawak’s Strides into the Future’ had won this year.
This year winners were selected from two categories – MICE in Malaysia and MICE in Sarawak from print and broadcast media. Experienced judges from the media industry were appointed to judge the entries. Winners were selected based on in-depth and thought-provoking reports on MICE.
The winners received a total prize of RM12, 000 comprising RM10, 000 worth of convention package and RM2, 000 cash prize each. The finalists walked away with RM500 cash each.
The Malaysia MICE Journalism Award (MMJA) was initiated in 2011 by Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) to recognize excellence in business events journalism. This initiative is jointly supported by the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI) and Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
