WTM 2012World Travel Market, the leading global event for the travel industry, is employing Mobile Industry Review founder Ewan MacLeod to help it expand and improve its mobile offering.

WTM technology region has been the fastest growing segment of the WTM exhibition floor, increasing by 40% and 30% over the past two events with mobile exhibitors being a key part of the expansion.

For WTM 2013 technology will be its own stand-alone event and MacLeod will use his expertise to develop initiatives to further increase the involvement of mobile industry companies at WTM.

Macleod founded Mobile Industry Review in 2006, which has 250,000 senior mobile industry executive readers, and has been advising WTM’s parent company Reed Exhibitions on technology innovation since 2010.

He has successfully founded a number of technology start-ups and has advised a number of leading organisations including Teletext, BskyB and Disney.

Reed Travel Exhibitions Director World Travel Market Simon Press said: “I am delighted to welcome Ewan to the WTM team. It is exciting times for WTM with mobile being a key part of the event’s development making Ewan the perfect person to advise WTM on how to cement and improve upon the previous success of the Travel Technology region.”
