ANDALUSIA will highlight the diverse range of tourism opportunities available throughout the region at the next staging of FITUR, where it will present its key tourism strategies: Sun & Beach Tourism, Rural Tourism, Cultural Tourism, Golf, Sports, Cuisine, Leisure, Health & Beauty Care, and Congresses and Incentive Trips.
Featuring more than 500 miles of coast between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean and a wide variety of different landscapes, ranging from long sandy beaches of fine sand to tiny coves hidden between sheer cliffs, the Andalusian coastline constitutes a natural heritage that has its own special character. Inland, tourists will come across more than 20 Nature Parks, with some 18% of the region’s surface area enjoying special protected status. Here visitors can enjoy a multitude of adventure activities and sports, which make ANDALUSIA one of the leading regions in the Spanish ranking of inland tourism destinations.
The cultural wealth of this destination, with its immense artistic heritage, can be observed in cities such as Granada, Cordova and Seville, as well as in Úbeda, Baeza, Jaén, Ronda in the Province of Málaga and Moguer in the Province of Huelva. Andalusian cuisine itself emerges as a marvellous example of the Region’s considerable diversity: seafaring dishes and mountain specialities, desserts of Moorish influence and some of the best-known wines in the world make up the culinary fare of this region.
Finally, congress tourism constitutes another of the most important attractions of Andalusia. The region’s extensive network of Conferences Centres, featuring more than 53,000 places, enables Andalusia to serve as an ideal meeting-point for the realms of culture, business and leisure. These places are complemented by the more than 160,000 places available at meeting venues located at hotel establishments.
