NEW INITIATIVES AT FITUR 2013

Tourism know-how that is placed at the service of the industry is a key factor when it comes to tackling current challenges within an ever-changing market.

For this reason, the show has set up FITUR KNOW-HOW & EXPORT, a pioneering initiative within the international realm promoted by the trade fair, in conjunction with the Spanish Foreign Trade Institute (ICEX) and SEGITTUR.

This initiative will enable tourism companies to present their most innovative solutions within the field of tourism management, based on an integral approach and encompassing all aspects ranging from consulting and strategic planning to technological developments and e-commerce, not to mention tourism marketing, infrastructures and facilities, tourism technologies, sustainability and the environment, the social-health sector and, of course, tourism company management.

In this section of the exhibition, Spanish companies will be able to present all of their potential, know-how and experience to foreign buyers, as well as compiling information regarding the tourism strategies and tenders available in different countries. FITUR KNOW-HOW & EXPORT will feature a comprehensive Programme of Specialised Conferences and Expert Panels, activities organised by the UNWTO in which participants can present the latest innovations. Furthermore, tourism authorities from all over the world will present their different tourism projects, strategies and tenders, together with a range of other business opportunities.

Wine-Based Tourism Accommodation
FITUR aims to serve as a faithful reflection of the tourist industry and, for this reason, with each new staging of the trade event it seeks to extend its exhibition by incorporating all kinds of tourism activity, focusing in particular on those segments that are of growing interest to travellers. Wine-based tourism, a segment of considerable growth potential, has thus been incorporated as a new initiative amongst the monographic sections at the show, based on a new area known as FITUR – Wine-Based Tourism Accommodation. This section provides a new forum for business for both Spanish and foreign operators. In effect, a top selection of hotels with their own vineyards in various wine-growing regions throughout Spain will be brought together to present their buildings of considerable architectural appeal and different activities revolving around the world of wine and wine-making, thus combining the most exclusive tourism with wine-making culture and traditions.

The Most Commercial Staging of the Show at FITUR 2013: FITUR GET-AWAYS
As part of another new initiative this year, the companies and bodies taking part at FITUR will be able to market and sell their products on the days on which the trade fair opens to the general public (Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February 2013). The FITUR Get-Aways have a two-fold objective.

On the one hand they seek to offer new commercial opportunities to the exhibitors, enabling them to maximise the returns on their participation at the fair over the weekend. On the other, they enable visitors to the show to take advantage of a series of exclusive offers, promotions and discounts, whilst discovering the most attractive destinations and most suggestive ideas for their next holiday.

In short, once again this year FITUR has placed itself at the service of the tourist industry by creating the most ideal setting for the promotion of new business opportunities. FITUR will open the tourism trade fair calendar for the year and, in this respect, constitutes an ideal occasion on which to discover the latest market projects, strategies and trends, as well as providing an opportunity to plan for the year and establish the working strategies that are to be applied throughout 2013.
