The Arp-Hansen Hotel Group has recently acquired a new plot of land at Borgergade 9-11 with a view to building a new Wakeup hotel of approximately 340 rooms.
Acquired from the City of Copenhagen, the plot will now be taken over, and the project will be brought to fruition in collaboration with architect Kim Utzon.
The new hotel is expected to be ready for opening in summer 2014 – at yet another of Copenhagen’s central locations. The Arp-Hansen Hotel Group opened the first Wakeup Copenhagen in 2009, neighbouring Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center, and it has since proved to be a very popular hotel. More than 500,000 guests have stayed at the hotel since its opening and, with its powerful low cost/high quality concept, the hotel has been very well received by guests and partners alike, hence the desire to develop the concept with yet another hotel – this time in a very central location at the other end of Copenhagen.
Borgergade is situated in a vibrant neighbourhood with restaurants, shopping, parking and good infrastructure with trains, buses and metro. What’s more, it is just a two-minute walk from Kongens Have (The King’s Garden).
The new Wakeup will be built to the same high standards as at the Wakeup Hotel by the Congress Center. With respect for the Arp-Hansen Hotel Group’s philosophy, our goal with this new hotel, as with all our hotels, is to provide guests, partners and employees with a unique hotel in a unique location.
