18 February, 2013: Simmering paella stations replicating Melbourne’s inner-urban gastronomic scene; authentic flavours from Malaysia, Korea, India and the Philippines; and a touch of dancing will make up this year’s dynamic social program at the Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo (AIME).

The program will kick off with the official Welcome Reception, Melbourne LIVE!, encapsulating the city’s vibrant festival scene, on the evening of Monday, 25 February. Festivities will take place at Melbourne’s hottest new wining and dining precinct, South Wharf Promenade, conveniently located adjacent to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC). Tickets to the AIME official Welcome Reception are complimentary for Hosted Buyers, media and exhibitors. For all other guests, tickets cost $115 and can be purchased through www.aime.com.au.

AIME’s Networking Hour will take place on stands around the show floor on the Tuesday afternoon from 4:30pm, giving visitors and buyers the chance to meet exhibitors in a more relaxed setting. Simultaneously, drinks and canapés will be sponsored by Korea Tourism Organization on the Future Events Experience stand.

Club Night will also return in 2013 from 9:30pm until late at the Crown Towers’ Club 23, one of Melbourne’s latest luxury lounge bars boasting stunning views of the city skyline. This AIME favourite is a great place to unwind after a day of successful meetings and is complimentary and open to all attendees.

Lunch-time networking is set to be popular again this year with the Globe Restaurant, sponsored by India Tourism and the Philippine Department of Tourism, dishing out delicious authentic cuisine. Another dining alternative, the Malaysia Spice Market sponsored by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau, will bring a taste of their local flavours to Melbourne. These dining options provide a great place to meet up with clients and colleagues whilst re-energising with some delicious global fare.

Sally de Swart, Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) Director for AIME, said the networking events are always a highlight of AIME and 2013 will not disappoint.

“The line-up of events will not only focus on networking, for which AIME is synonymous, but will offer inspiring activities and experiences that will create lasting memories for all AIME attendees. We’re very proud of the quality of events available this year,” Ms de Swart said.
