Tanner & Co to open in May 2013

Camm and Hooper is to open the first in a series of planned venues in the capital.

Opening in close vicinity to The Shard in late May 2013, Camm and Hooper’s inaugural venture will be named Tanner & Co and offer a 100 cover restaurant and event space for up to 250 guests. Located in popular gastro destination, Bermondsey Street, Tanner & Co will appeal to London’s growing foodie following as well as positioning itself as an aspirational event space for the creative and media industries.

A re-modeling of the former Delfina is now underway and will result in a design-led operation that draws on the site’s architectural heritage.  Overseen by Russell Sage Studio, the noted interiors specialist,  cutting edge design will be juxtaposed with up-cycled and rescued treasures. Vivid flashes of green will add impact to the space – including a specially commissioned super-size lime green leather chesterfield sofa, which will draw the eye to Tanner & Co’s spacious outdoor areas.

Food will be available seven days a week and will be overseen by Justin Saunders, Camm and Hooper’s Director of Food. A contemporary take on comfort food will be order of the day with modern cooking techniques influencing traditional dishes. All charcuterie will be smoked, brined and cured in-house and the carvery trolley will make its welcome return alongside hanging skewers encouraging guests to make their own pies adding a bit of theatre to Saunders’ market fresh menus.

Tanner & Co’s event space is set to raise the benchmark for private and corporate events. Geared for up to 250 guests, the space will break down traditional barriers associated with staid silver service by offering a flair kitchen and open pass where guests can congregate and graze.

Camm and Hooper is conceived by respected hotelier, Claire Lawson to revolutionise the event sector in London. Under her guidance the company will champion innovation by delivering exceptional products and services in some of the capitals most recognisable buildings.

Claire Lawson managing director of Camm and Hooper said, ‘Tanner & Co will be a great addition to a destination that is prized for its world class restaurants.  It will also represent the first in a series of event spaces that Camm and Hooper will be opening in the capital’s landmark locations. We have created a unique space and are challenging the norms by offering a very different service offering a menu concept for the lively events market.’
