ABTS CONVENTION SERVICES SPONSORS THE AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOCIATIONABTS teams up with the Tour de Cure® in the fight to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

MIAMI, FL (March 7, 2013) – ABTS Convention Services (ABTS), a global company specializing in serving major medical association meetings in the U.S, sponsored the American Diabetes Association 2013 Tour de Cure® signature bicycle ride. For a company working directly with medical associations and their international annual meeting attendees from around the world, corporate wellness and a social responsibility toward global health take a front seat.

Last month, American Diabetes Association (ADA), hosted the Tour de Cure®. The Tour de Cure® is a series of fundraising cycling events held in 44 states nationwide to benefit the American Diabetes Association. The Tour is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone; all routes are supported from start to finish with rest stops, food to fuel the journey and cheering fans.

In 2011, more than 55,000 cyclists in 80 events raised more than $18 million to support the mission of the American Diabetes Association: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

“We are very proud to have collaborated with ADA’s Annual Meeting for nearly a decade now and to celebrate, this year we recruited riders and volunteers for the 68 mile bike ride,” said Davide Veglia, ABTS President. “Because of our medical industry background, health and wellness are at the forefront of our company culture. Contribution to local wellness programs and corporate participation toward ADA’s mission is our social responsibility.”
2013 marked the second Tour de Cure® which was held in Miami, Florida, also the headquarters of ABTS. There were a total of 529 riders and 58 teams. ABTS sponsored their first annual team of riders and a Tour de Cure® rest stop.
