Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) announced that Open Space will return on Thursday 20 February 2014.
The free public event will coincide with Business Events Week and the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) which is hosted annually at MCEC.
MCEC’s Chief Executive said: “Our first Open Space was a great opportunity to show off what we do so Melburnians can embrace MCEC as their home to learn, share, connect and be entertained.
“I’m sure we can raise the bar in 2014 and I’m looking forward to opening our doors again to industry and the public.”
The inaugural Open Space was a resounding success with more than 600 people attending the showcase on 28 February 2013.
Visitors came expecting the unexpected and experienced just that. From a pop up market in the foyer with real grass to Simon Hammond and his rock band who provided an inspiring plenary session on the value of connection in business. A panel of events and industry experts were also on stage to discuss the community, education and cultural benefits of events.
In the main foyer a pop up installation of hawker-style food markets offered a complimentary taste of MCEC’s award-winning produce and a range of Victorian suppliers.
MCEC would like to thank our major sponsors Harry The Hirer and greenevents who completely transformed our foyer space into a green slice of urban Melbourne. Special mention to Farinacci Pasta, Milla’s, Tarago Olives and Y&J Japanese Catering for supplying their produce.
