The International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IISRP) has chosen Kyoto as the host city for its 2014 annual general meeting.
The event will take place at the Westin Miyako, Kyoto – the same venue the organisation used when it last held a meeting in the city in 1983. With 17 flexible meeting rooms, including one of the largest ballrooms in Kyoto, The Westin Miyako provides an ideal backdrop for the organisations largest meeting.
The IISRP is an international not-for-profit trade association with 50 producer and affiliated members domiciled in 21 countries. The producers represent more than 80% of the global synthetic rubber capacity. The organisation has its headquarters in Texas but also has support offices in Tokyo and Milan.
James Kent, Kyoto Convention Bureau’s international marketing manager comments: “We look forward to welcoming this gathering of CEOs from around the world because of the importance of the business that will take place and for the relationship that the organisation has with Kyoto. We expect that Kyoto’s rich heritage and long history will play a central role in the meeting’s proceedings. Alongside Kyoto’s range of meeting facilities, there are a plethora of sightseeing and attractions which will allow delegates to network and learn in a rich cultural environment.”
Takae Izumi, Inbound Development Room Sales at the Westin Miyako says: “Our experience means we are capable of meeting the demands of international organisations whatever the size of the event. The dedicated Convention Services team will be able to help our visitors integrate traditional Japanese activities into the meeting, whilst exceeding their expectations throughout the organisation of the event.”
