Iconic London landmark The O2 has launched a number of team building packages for one of its newest activities ‘Up at The O2’. Originally opened last year the visitor attraction is now available for exclusive hire, lending itself particularly well to team building style activities.
‘Up at The O2’involves participants ascending to the very top of The O2 via a walkway suspended 52m above ground level. After climbing to the top of the iconic building participants reach the viewing platform, which affords 360 degree views across London, including landmarks such as the Olympic Park and Canary Wharf.
Companies can book an exclusive session meaning that the roof is completely theirs. This option also includes a dedicated climb guide, personalised video greeting and a team video package.
A number of extra options can be added to the experience such as food and drink, either on the roof itself or via one of The O2’s many restaurants and event spaces. Other add-on options include other attractions such as a cinema screening or a visit to The British Music Experience.
Three of the newly designed packages include:
Rock the Roof
In addition to the ‘Up at The O2’ experience this package also includes a visit to The British Music Experience and exclusive hire of the events space within it as a fitting way to conclude the day with either a drinks reception, dinner, awards ceremony or even a gig.
The British Music Experience at The O2 uses state-of-the-art effects and high-end digital interactivity to illustrate Britain’s aptitude for producing the finest rock, pop and dance music.
Grand Expedition
With this package the roof top climb is followed by a party at indigO2, one of London’s largest event spaces. The open plan ground floor area with purpose-built performance stage is suitable for conferences, presentations and award ceremonies. The amphitheatre-style seating on the first floor creates a combined capacity of 1,625 for theatre-style events. indigO2 also boasts a VIP lounge, creating a luxurious setting for drinks receptions, product launches and networking events.
Action Adventure
To top off the adventurous climb to the top of the building, teams can unwind with a private screening of a chosen film at The O2’s onsite 11 screen cinema. The screen can also be used as an enormous games screen or to display presentations as part of a product launch or conference.
Bespoke themes for events can also be discussed; prices start from £500 for an exclusive group of 15 climbers.
Jennie Double, head of corporate sales at The O2, commented: “The view from the top is really inspiring and definitely worth the challenge of getting up there. We think ‘Up at The O2’ is a perfect way for organisations to get their staff out of the boardrooms and away from their computer screens to work together and gain a different perspective by both inspiring and rewarding them.”
