Zibrant sets the standard for gender equality in the workplaceGlobal venue finding and events agency Zibrant is affirming its position as an ambassador for women in business. Overseen by industry figurehead Fay Sharpe, and recognised for its progressive culture, Zibrant has created a work culture that encourages success and entrepreneurialism, married with work life balance. The company was listed in ‘The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2012‘.

Underlining its position in gender equality, Zibrant’s Fay Sharpe has been invited to Downing Street to represent the UK events industry at the Women and Economic Growth reception on 13th March. The event, by invitation of Rt Hon George Osborne, will be hosted by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

Today’s International Women’s Day 2013, 8th March, will see Zibrant acknowledge its female business leaders across its UK and overseas offices. Zibrant has a staff which comprises 73% women. Of its senior management team, 58% are females, having worked their way up from entry level positions, and 44% of Zibrant’s board directors are female, all of whom have returned to work after maternity leave.

The International Women’s Day is a yearly international initiative that dates back to 1911, and recognises the value and importance of women in the workplace, celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.

Zibrant’s strive for gender equality in the workplace involves creating a flexible and supportive working environment for women of all ages, encouraging young women to join the meetings industry through career advice and work experience placements, and actively promoting women in business through networking and securing speaking opportunities at industry events.

Fay Sharpe, Managing Director – Sales & Marketing, at Zibrant, said: “It’s a great honor to have been invited to the Women and Economic Growth reception, as their work is vital for gender equality, which is something we strive to achieve at Zibrant. Just the other week, we saw in an industry report carried out by Event Magazine how poorly represented women were in the events sector; today’s International Women’s Day is the ideal opportunity to celebrate women in commerce, recognising the talent that we have.”
