BMCC’s Annual Charity Rugby Dinner on the 4th of June

The excitement of rugby fans in Kuala Lumpur hums in the air every June. This year will be no exception as the ninth edition of the BMCC Charity Rugby Dinner and Coaching Clinic hits town.

This year’s Charity Dinner will take place on the 4th of June at the prestigious Shangri-La Hotel and is one of the many special events being held this year to mark BMCC’s 50th Anniversary.

Since its inception in 2005, renowned rugby players have continued to whet the appetite of the KL rugby pack, taking centre stage to help raise funds for Malaysian charities. Last year the BMCC raised RM40,000 for Dyslexia Association of Malaysia, RM20,000 for the Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia, and RM10,000 each for Ti-Ratana Welfare Society and Shelter Home For Children. Charities that have benefited from the Charity Dinner include Agathians Shelter, Women’s Aid Organisation, the National Cancer Society of Malaysia Breast Cancer Programme; National Stroke Association of Malaysia; Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah; Living with HIV/AIDS, Seeing Is Believing, and Financial Literacy Programmes; Persatuan Keluarga Orang-Orang Bermasalah Pembelajaran, Prudential Welfare Home for underprivileged children and the Sanctuary Care Centre for children.

They will be headline speakers for the event and play host to the coaching clinic that will be attended by budding rugby juniors from selected Malaysian schools.

Renowned rugby pundit Justin Sampson will act as MC and Auctioneer for the Dinner and will be joined by the lovely ladies of Capital FM, Xandria Ooi and Joanne Kam.

BMCC’s generous sponsors of this year’s event are Platinum Sponsors The Royal Bank of Scotland Malaysia Berhad, Senergy International Sdn Bhd and HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad. Our Gold partner is Sepang International Circuit, with Corporate Information Travel (CIT) and Allied Pickfords on board as Silver Sponsors.

BMCC’s supporting partners include Guinness Anchor Berhad and Milawa, Expatriate Lifestyle as Official Media Partner with Rhino as Coaching Clinic sponsor and Peugeot as our Official Car.

“At its core, this event is committed to raising funds for Malaysian charities. In 2012, with the support of our sponsors, our Chamber hit the RM1 million mark and we look forward to another successful year in giving back to the community” says Datuk Peter Wentworth OBE, BMCC Board Director and Chairman of the Rugby Organising Committee.
