In support of the growth and renewed confidence in the business travel sector, the Business Travel Pavilion at EIBTM (www.eibtm.com), the global hub for the meetings and events industry, is to be part of the new floor layout for EIBTM 2013 with a dedicated area, bite size education and special features to enhance the experience of buyers and suppliers.
Recent research conducted by the World Travel & Tourism Council reported that business travel currently accounts for 24% of travel and tourism’s contribution to GDP overall. The same report predicts that business travel spending will grow by 3.1% globally in 2013 to EUR 814.4 billion, highlighting the increasing business potential of this sector.
Graeme Barnett, Reed Travel Exhibitions, EIBTM Event Director said, “Business confidence is up as many reports and surveys have shown over the past few months. As companies need to compete in the global economy, so they invest in business travel, which is an intrinsic part of the international meetings industry. Our research following EIBTM 2012 highlighted that 56% of our Hosted Buyers had a direct involvement in business travel, demonstrating the need for a specialist area, such as the Business Travel Pavilion, to support this sector,” concluded Barnett.
Commenting on the Business Travel Pavilion at EIBTM 2012, exhibitor Dan Moser, CMO at CAPITO said, “There were many good contacts amongst the hotel sector and also the pre-scheduled appointments have been very interesting. People came with a good idea of what we were offering. The pre-scheduled appointments gave us some quality leads.”
The Business Travel Pavilion provides a dedicated area for exhibitors to meet with buyers who have responsibility and proven budget for business travel, and includes dedicated education content.
